Obituary

JOHNSEN - Dale R. Johnsen, 58, passed away Monday evening, March 25, 2013 at the Community Hospice St. Vincent's Center for Caring.
Mr. Johnsen was born January 3, 1955 in Jacksonville, FL and moved Yulee, FL 31 years ago from Southern California where he was stationed with the U. S. Navy. Before his retirement from the Navy Mr. Johnsen served in the Desert Storm, Desert Shield and Operation Care Drop campaigns. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the VFW.
In his middle school years Dale was a member of the student council and voted "most likely to succeed." He as a former Boy Scout scoutmaster and had a "happy go lucky" personality; a friend to all he met and never met a stranger. He held a deep love for his country and was very patriotic and is said by his children to have been the best Dad in the world.
Mr. Johnsen was predeceased by one child, June Love Johnsen who passed away in 1981.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Cindy Johnsen of Yulee, FL; a son, Ronald D. Johnsen (Laurie) of Gray, GA; two daughters, Sue'Anne W. Dawson (James) of Yulee, FL and Dale Renee' Johnsen of Fernandina Beach, FL; a brother, Rick Johnsen (Connie) of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Lorrie Wells (John), also of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Ashleigh Johnsen, Aubrey Corley and Juliann Corley; and was soon expecting his first great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Rizzi officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. The family will recieve friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday March 30, at the funeral home.
