Harley “Bud” Clifton Kime, age 71, entered into rest on March 23, 2013 at his home in Pasco. He was born on September 15, 1941 in Orofino, Idaho to Earl and Eleanor (Porter) Kime. Bud married Becky Calland and they had four children. Later, on June 14, 1991, he married Janet Richman, which brought more children into his life.
Bud was a self-taught mechanic and enjoyed working on cars. In the 1960’s he enjoyed drag racing and won many trophies. He was also an avid fisherman and pool player and played in many tournaments. In the late 1980’s, Bud had a life changing illness that required him to make a career change. So, in his 50’s, he started at YVCC and took classes to become a Radiology Technician and graduated in 1993 with honors. He worked in this profession until 2006.
Bud was a hardworking, selfless man who gave to others without expecting anything in return.
He was always a pleasure to be around and made many friends over the years. He loved his children and they loved him and know they would not be who they are today without his love and guidance. He was tough as nails and never complained about his illness.
Bud is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Jan Kime; two sisters, Nellie Flatt and Charlotte Roberts; one son Randy Kime and wife, Lisa; three daughters, Jo Kime, Bobbie Lopez and husband, Adam and Teri Cline; eight grandchildren, Rachell, Aaron, Stephanie, Branden, Amanda, Kydan, Lennon and Charly; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his step-children, April Elaine Meyer and husband, Roger and Harley David Grinder; his step-grandchildren, Sundae Elaine Stone, Amber Marie Wheeler, Jake Delbert McClain and Marissa Herron; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Eleanor Kime and brother, Jack Kime.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Please contact Jo Kime at [email protected] for information.
