WILBRAHAM – Kathleen T. “Kathy” (McDonald) Tracy, 50, a longtime resident of Wilbraham was Called Safely Home on Saturday, March 23, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at the home where she grew up, in Wilbraham, after a five year courageous battle with breast cancer, surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Ware on March 19, 1963, a beloved daughter of Avis Sandra (Michalak) McDonald of Wilbraham and the late Derik A. McDonald who was Called Home on February 11, 1978. She was raised in Wilbraham, graduated in 1981 from Minnechaug Regional High School and lived in Wilbraham for most of her life, before moving to Chicopee around 2006. She was employed for over 23 years as the volunteer coordinator at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield. She was truly loved by the entire staff at the Shriners Hospital and always commented on how she loved going to work every day. During her leisure time, she was always willing to assist anyone in need and volunteered yearly for the Rays of Hope Walk. She enjoyed camping with her sister Jacquelyn’s family and bowling with her many friends. Her favorite past time was the peaceful solitude of walking the many beaches of New England and listening to the sound of the waves approaching the shoreline. Most of all, Kathy will be remembered as a loving woman who adored her family and friends and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her devoted mother and best friend, Sandy (Michalak) McDonald of Wilbraham; her two loving children whom she adored, Justin C. Tracy and Lindsey N. Tracy, both of Wilbraham; her loving sister and brother-in-law, Jacquelyn H. (McDonald) Frigon and her husband, Richard Frigon, of Ludlow; her two cherished nephews who affectionately called her “Auntie Crappy”, Cameron and Connor Frigon; her dear longtime companion, Joe Goncalves of Springfield; her devoted former husband and friend who is the father of their wonderful children, Timothy L.
