Edward J. Kokocinski, of Park Ave., died Sunday, March 24, 2013. Edward was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Irene, who passed away March 12, 2013, he was also preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Lottie Kokocinski, and his sisters, Regina Zalewski and Anna Klatecki, a nephew, Michael Zalewski and a niece, Maryann Cabral.
He is survived by his wife’s children, Philip A. Charbonneau, Joy Pizzetti, and Jay Charbonneau, five grandchildren and a great grandson. He is also survived by his great nieces, Dr. Danielle Cabral , Dawn Zinkewicz, Audrey Zalewski, and a great nephew, Dan Zalewski.
Koko was a lifelong resident of Webster, the town he loved, and belonged to many town organizations. He was a lifelong member of the Webster Lions Club, the Democratic Town Committee, and later the Democratic State Committee. He was a retired volunteer firefighter, member of the Webster Housing Authority, and Webster’s former Plumbing Inspector and a former D.P.W. Commissioner, and former Water Commissioner and a member of St. Joseph Basilica.
Koko was the owner of Kokocinski Plumbing and Heating. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the Air Force until he was called home due to the death of his father. At that time he took over the family plumbing business, which he operated until his death.
The Funeral will be Thursday, March 28, 2013 with a Liturgy of the Word at 10 AM in St. Joseph’s Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial with Military Honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will follow be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery.
Calling Hours for Koko will be Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 5PM to 8PM at the ROBERT J.MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St.,Webster.
