Marie J. (Callaghan) White, 88, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on March 25, 2013 at Maples Rehab. & Nursing Center in Wrentham. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. White who died in 1997 and to whom she had been married to for 47 years.
Born in Newton on June 16, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Margaret (Hoade) Callaghan.
Mrs. White is survived by her children, John White and his wife Cynthia of Franklin, Maureen Ellisor and her husband Kenny of Reedsport, OR, Peggy White Golden and her husband Bradley Golden of Fairfax, Station, VA and William White and his wife Sandy of Franklin.
She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Michelle Beard, Nicole White, James Ellisor, Charlotte, Ellisor, Andrew White, Amanda White and Steven Golden and her great grandson Brayden Beard.
Mr. White worked for many years as a telephone operator at N. E. Telephone.
She loved her family, her many pets over the years, and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass at St. Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre Street in West Roxbury on Wednesday, March 27 at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will follow in Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery in West Roxbury.
