Lois I. Hannigan
Retired New England Telephone Supervisor

TEWKSBURY: Lois I. (Richards) Hannigan, age 83, a resident of Tewksbury for 47 years, passed away at the Blaire House on Saturday, March 23, 2013.
She was the beloved wife of William F. Hannigan, who passed away on September 27, 2005.
Born in Lowell on January 21, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Richards and the late Irene (Dowrey) Richards.
Lois was raised in Lowell, attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Supervisor by the New England Telephone Company, where she worked for 20 years.
Lois was an active member of the Lawrence Street Methodist Church, where she served on the Missionary Society, and sang in the Choir.
She enjoyed home decorating, music, traveling to Vermont with her late husband, and providing a caring home for her family.
Lois is survived by two children, Laurel J. Hansen and her husband Dana of Lowell, and Jeff T. Hannigan and his wife Faith (Ortins) of Spring Valley, CA; two grandchildren, Olivia J. Tocci and her husband Nathan, and Rebecca I. Hansen all of Lowell; three great grandchildren, Alanna and Caleb Tocci, and Colton Hansen all of Lowell; one sister, Alice Scogin of Roanoke, VA; also many nieces and nephews.
Lois was also the sister of the late Betty Joynt, formerly of Lowell and Thomas Richards, formerly of Nashua, NH.
Calling hours are Thursday, March 28, from 4-8 p.m. in the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29, at 11 a.m. in the Lawrence Street Methodist Church, 1189 Lawrence St., Lowell. Interment to follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Lawrence Street Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 1189 Lawrence St., Lowell, MA 01852.
