Noel Lehr, 66

Dateline: Norton, MA

Noel Lehr, age 66, of Norton, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Kindred Northeast Specialty Hospital in Stoughton.
Born in Attleboro, MA on November 24, 1946, he was a loving son of Dorothy E. (Kirkby) Lehr of Norton and the late Ferdinand J. Lehr.
A resident of Norton for most of his life, Noel spent his early childhood living in Attleboro and was educated in Norton public schools.
Prior to retiring, he had worked for over 10 years for the Attleboro public school system as a custodian, and had previously been employed as a talented custom painter.
Throughout his life, Noel always possessed a true love for animals. He enjoyed raising and showing Dobermans and Rotweillers and was the proud recipient of the many ribbons his dogs took at shows.
His other interests included gardening, the beauty that nature had to offer, and always keeping his trucks in top notch order. When younger, Noel, along with his family had attended the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his devoted brothers and sisters, Gary Lehr and his wife Janet of Norton, Bruce Lehr of Greenfield, Vicki Klenk and her husband Paul of Norton, Heidi Cousineau and her husband David of Rowe, Tammy Whitney and her husband John of Irving and the late Pamela Bellavance. He is also survived by many dear nieces and nephew and his brother in law Paul “Chippy” Bellavance of Attleboro.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a funeral service in celebration of his life on Thursday, March 28th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 27th from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Noel’s family has requested that donations in his memory and especially for his love of animals be made to the Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary, 37 Eddy St., Norton, MA 02766.
