Bernice M. (Peters) Gaudet, 86, of Methuen, died peacefully at home Saturday, March 23, 2013 with her family at her side.
Bernice, daughter of the late Thomas and Albina (Arsenault) Peters was born in Lawrence on June 3, 1926. She attended Lawrence schools and lived in Lawrence until moving to Methuen in 1970. Her beloved husband, Gerard J. Gaudet, died in 1980.
Bernice retired in 1988 after having worked eighteen years at Raytheon. She had also worked at the former Sutton Mills. For many years, Bernice and Gerard owned a beach home at Seabrook and she greatly enjoyed the time spent there with her family. She enjoyed knitting and played cards, especially 45’s. She will long be remembered for the time and steadfast devotion she gave to her husband who suffered with ALS prior to his passing in 1980.
Bernice will be deeply missed by her children, George R. Clarke of Methuen, Carol A. Beauchesne of Methuen, Sharon A. Saunders and her husband Wayne of Tyngsboro and Richard G. Gaudet of Methuen; seven grandchildren, Raymond Clarke, Bradford Clarke, Ryan Trignani, Daniel Saunders, Matthew Saunders, Michelle Saunders and Jennifer Hollinrake and her husband Craig and four great grandchildren, William and Devin Clarke and Brayden and Luke Hollinrake, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be warmly received in the KENNETH H. POLLARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 6-8 PM . Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at St. Monica’s Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
