GEORGE MASON RICHARDSON
EVANS, Ga. - George Richardson, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went to be with his Savior on Friday, March 22, 2013. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 at St. Mark United Methodist Church at 11AM.
George was born in 1933 in Atlanta, Georgia. He joined the Army in 1951, was deployed to Korea with the 9330 TSU Ordinance Unit in 1952, and served for three years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management in 1957 from Southern Tech and later earned a Master of Science in Industrial Management Degree from Georgia Tech in 1962. He met and married Kay in 1954 and they had five children. He taught at Southern Tech, Armstrong State College, and Augusta College and retired from the Department of Energy Savannah River Site in 1994 After retiring from SRS, he taught several additional years at Georgia Military College at Ft. Gordon. George was a strong Christian, long time member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, and demonstrated a deep and abiding love for his wife and family.
Survivors include two sons, Mason Neil Richardson (Traci) of Evans, GA, Randy Richardson (Debbie) of Leesburg, VA, one daughter, Lynn Richardson Vetter (John) of Spring Hill, TN, and six grandchildren, Jordan Marie Richardson, Daniel Mason Vetter, Galey Garner Richardson, George Mason Richardson, III, Skyla Joy Richardson, and Austin Randall Richardson. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kay, and one grandson, Joshua Mason Richardson.
