Ronald Joseph Lapierre, age 65, passed away on March 21, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on May 16, 1947 in Holyoke and has lived in Springfield for most his life. He was a son of the late Normand U. and Rita M. (Asselin) Lapierre. Ronald was a communicant of St Catherine of Seinna. He was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School, Class of 1965. Ronald had also served in the US Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He later worked as an automotive refinisher for Cook, Chrysler and Casey for many years before he retired. He was a member the Pioneer Valley Chapter 8 N.A.F.C.A and enjoyed RC Cars and camping. He leaves his loving wife, Ann Marie (Batch) Lapierre of Springfield; 3 sons, Anthony N. Lapierre and his girlfriend Kimberly LaDouceur and her son Nathan of Chicopee, Michael J. Lapierre and his wife Shannon of Claremont, NH and Mark J. Lapierre and his girlfriend Catherine Rivet of Springfield; one brother Kenneth Lapierre and his wife Laura of Agawam and 6 beloved grandchildren, Mark Jr., Auriana, Joshua, Jayden, Brandon and Chloe. A funeral service will be held on Wed. March 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1390 Main St, Agawam, MA.
