Myrtice Maxine Tucker Parker, 70, of Ty Ty died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday March 25, 2013 at Carpenter Road Church of God. Rev. Salone Green will officiate with burial to follow in Salem Memorial Gardens. Mark Poe, Carl Poe, Donald Griffin, Anthony Miranda, Bryan Drawdy and Andy Drawdy will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Parker will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Parker was born on January 29, 1943 in Polk County, Florida and was the daughter of Floyd L. Tucker and Florence Willis Tucker Sammons, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Richard Parker, who died in July 1, 2007; one daughter, Loretta Lynn Rushing; a son-in-law, Terry Dean Scroggins; two sisters, Mary Frier and Carlene Bridges; and one brother, Bobby Sammons. She was a retired furniture designer/maker and was a member of Carpenter Road Church of God.
Mrs. Parker is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Hollis R. “Bo” Parker, Jr. and wife Tonya of Ty Ty; six daughters and two sons-in-law, Cheryle Dickerson of Fulton, Mississippi, Kim and Mike Curtis of Mississippi, Pamela Scroggins of Frostproof, Florida, Linda Taylor of Gainesville, Florida, Debra and Marvin Lewis of Ty Ty and Teresa and Jonathan Medders of Tifton; 15 grandchildren and their spouses, Justin Dickerson of Fulton, Mississippi, Morgan Elizabeth Curtis of Mississippi, Mark and Tina Poe of Frostproof, Florida, Carlos Poe of Lake Wales, Florida, Lee Lewis of Ty Ty, Michael and Britney Lewis of Ty Ty, Alexxus Medders of Tifton, Ashley Rushing of Mooreville, Mississippi, Wesley Rushing of Mooreville, Mississippi, Andrew Taylor of Japan and Misty Kirk and Matthew Faulkner of Lake Wales, Florida and Jennifer, Thomas, Bama and Bettyfay Scroggins; 15 great-grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Floyd L. Tucker and Gene and Connie Tucker, all of Georgia; Brantley and Mary Alice Tucker and Daniel and Sandy Tucker, all of Florida; one sister, Diane Tucker of Florida; and a brother-in-law, Charles Frier of Tampa, Florida.
