Scotty Jenkins, 50, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Christian Tabernacle in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Jenkins was born November 6, 1962 in Valdosta to Walter and Louise Smith Jenkins. He lived in the community most of his life and was a truck driver for Dalan Trucking Company. He was a member of Christian Tabernacle where he led the singing. He was a member of Forgiven by Grace, a local Christian singing group. He enjoyed participating in music ministry at Fitzgerald Nursing Home and was a mentor to youth. Mr. Jenkins served his country in the Georgia Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley Jenkins of Fitzgerald; Daughter: Peggy (Mickey) Broome of Fitzgerald; Son: Randy (Pam) Grimes of Fitzgerald; son: David (Rose) Grimes of Fitzgerald; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his parents: Walter and Louise Jenkins and two sisters: Charlotte (Kenny) Griffin of Fitzgerald and Susan (Chris) Hughes of Fitzgerald.
