Obituary

WEBSTER – Mary S. (Gulczynski) Plasse, 93, died peacefully Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Transitional Care Unit at Hubbard Hospital after a short illness. Her husband of 54 years, Clarence G. Plasse, died in 2004.
She leaves 3 daughters, Adrienne Plasse of San Rafael, CA, Susan Plasse with whom she lived, and Renee Ondrasek and her husband David of Thompson, CT; 3 grandchildren, Shaolin Plasse, and Brandon and Christopher Ondrasek; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Josephine and Bernice Gulczynski.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of Peter and Agnes (Lewandowski) Gulcynski and was a lifelong resident. She attended Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Plasse first worked as an inspector at Webster Lens. She was a certified nurse’s assistant at Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center in Webster and then at Sandalwood Nursing Home in Oxford for 13 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member and daily communicant of Saint Louis Church. She was also an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and solving puzzles.
The family would like to extend its thanks to the staff of the Transitional Care Unit at Hubbard for the wonderful care given to Mary and also to the Visiting Nurse Association of Southern Worcester County whose compassionate help allowed Mary to stay at home during her last years.
The funeral will be Monday, March 25, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, March 24, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to St. Louis School Endowment Fund, 15 Lake Street, or to the Transitional Care Unit at Hubbard Patient Activities Fund, 340 Thompson Road, both in Webster, MA 01570.
