Obituary

DANVERS - Joyce M. (Adrien) Smith, 81, of Danvers, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Masconomet Healthcare Center, Topsfield, following a short illness.

Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lydia (King) Adrien and was a graduate of Lynn English High School in the class of 1949.

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Joyce has left a beautiful legacy. She was a lover of classical music and the arts and received a black belt of Uechi Ryo Karate in 1980. She was passionate about all animals especially Shetland Sheepdogs. She was Past President of Old Colony Dog Obedience Club, Past Board of Directors of Granite State Shetland Sheepdog Club and a member of the Colonial Shetland Sheepdog Club.
She was a breeder and obedience trainer of Shetland sheepdogs and received Obedience Titles in the US and Canada.

A longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Topsfield , she was also an active member of the choir.
She worked at Bay state Animal Clinic in Danvers for many years as the front desk receptionist.
She will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her

Joyce is survived by one son, Bradford Smith, one grandson, Zachary Wells, one brother, Arthur Adrien, one niece, Janice Bowlby Hourihan and one nephew, Richard Bowlby. She was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Wells Bouranis, a sister, Phyllis Bowlby and a longtime dear friend, Leo McCarron, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 124 River Road, Topsfield, on Saturday October 19th at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
