Merle Eugene Hutton
Jan. 29, 1926 to March 19, 2013

Merle Eugene Hutton, 87, of Anderson died at St. Vincent's Anderson Regional Hospital in Anderson, March 19, 2013 following an extended illness.

Merle was born January 29, 1926 in Anderson to Earl and Ruby (Lockridge) Hutton.

He served in the US Marines during WW II in the Pacific Theater serving on Iwo Jima.

He was a lifelong Anderson resident. Merle worked production at Delco Remy Division of General Motors 44 years before retiring in 1991.

He was a member of Mounds Baptist Church where he was formerly a deacon and trustee. He was a member of UAW Local 662 and American Legion Post 408. He served as a Boy Scout Leader.

Survivors include his sons, Brian C. (Tammy) Hutton of Anderson and Rev. Donald (Patty) Hutton of Greenwood; ten grandchildren: Kristen, Kyle, Carly, Mallory, Derek, Geoffrey, Alex, Matthew, Kelly and Daniel; four great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lillian (Boaz) Hutton; daughter Nita Hutton; a brother, Carroll Hutton and two sisters Crystal Gold and Agnes Rider.

Services will be on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at the Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Steve Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association or Mounds Baptist Church.
