Thelma Crum Essary, age 89, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Essary was born on January 18, 1924, in Kossuth, MS, to the late Luke Crum and Willie Fairchild Crum. Mrs. Essary was the secretary for First United Methodist Church for over 20 years.
Survivors include: her two sons, William Howard Essary, Jr, of Douglas, GA and Lewis Peyton Essary, of Stuttgart, Germany, three grandchildren, William Howard Essary, III, of Jacksonville, NC, Nicholas Andrew Essary, and Diana Nicole Essary, both of Stuttgart, Germany, and one great grandson, Samuel David Essary, of Jacksonville, NC.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21 from 6-9 pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Vernon officiating. Interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery.
