STIER Doris M. of Deerfield formerly of Roslindale, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013. She was born on August 8, 1918 in Boston where she lived before moving to Deerfield in 2004 to live with her son and his family. Doris is survived by her son, David J. Stier and his wife, Kathleen M. Stier of Deerfield. Dear grandmother of Dr. Jessica M. Stier and husband Benjamin Barshefsky of South Deerfield, Nicole M. Stier of Los Angeles and Melanie R. Stier of Deerfield. Sister of Rita Connolly, and the late Mary Bolton, Christian, Leo, Joseph, William and Paul Stier. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Doris worked as an administrative assistant for the Massachusetts Dental Society for 15 years. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. She was an active parishioner of Holy Name Church in Roslindale. She loved to attend her granddaughters’ sports events when they played for Frontier Regional High School and later during their college soccer careers. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY on Friday, Mar. 22nd. at 9:30am. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Holy Name Church at 11:30am. Visiting hour 9:30-11:00am. prior to Mass. Relatives and friends invited. Interment New Calvary Cemetery. The family will also open their home on Sunday, March 24th from 1-4 pm to those wishing to pay their respects (11 Sunrise Ave, Deerfield,MA).
