Edith M. (Manchester) Jarry, age 85, passed away on March 18, 2013 at the Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Marshfield, MA, a daughter of the late Everett and Anne (Pratt) Manchester. She lived in Chicopee most of her life and was educated in Chicopee Schools. She was a communicant of the former Assumption Church in Chicopee. In her teens, during WWII, she worked at the former Sickles and Spaulding Company. She retired from New England Telephone in 1991 after 21 years as a directory assistance operator. Edith enjoyed reading, watching baseball and soccer and going out to dinner and the movies. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Everett and John and her sons Alan and Ronald and her ex-husband Edward. Edith is survived by her three children, Diane Collins of Holyoke, Nancy and Marcus Kashmanian of Agawam and Eric Jarry of South Hadley. She leaves her beloved grandchildren, Chad Collins and his wife Heather, Jason Collins and his wife Alyssa, Zachary Kashmanian and his wife Brenda, Benjamin Kashmanian, Andrew Jarry and his wife Elizabeth and one granddaughter, Anastasia Jarry; 4 brothers, Wayne, David, Richard and Edwin; 2 sisters, Lois Benoit and Barbara Campagna; 7 great grandsons, Ryan, Adam, Jackson, Christian, Dominic, Andre, Zaven, one great granddaughter, Chloe and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Baystate Cardiac Unit and Critical Care for the excellent care they had given her during her stay. Calling hours will be held on Thurs, March 21, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A funeral service will be held on Fri, March 22, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Assumption Church (104 Springfield St, Chicopee), at 9:00 a.m., with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
