Mildred E. “Millie” (Munsell) Zwicker age 63 of West Wareham, formerly of Brockton, died Saturday March 16, 2013 at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife for 48 years of John E. Zwicker. Millie was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late William and Eva (Campbell) Munsell and had lived in Brockton for most of her life before moving to West Wareham 22 years ago.
Millie attended Brockton schools and received her degree in early education from Wheelock College. At the time of her Illness, Millie was a billing clerk for South Shore Internal Medicine Associates, Inc. for over 20 years. Previously she had been a head teacher at the Brockton Head Start and a teacher at Field House Pre-School. Millie loved Elvis, traveling and candle pin bowling at Timber Lanes in Abington and Viking Lanes in E. Bridgewater.
Millie will be remembered as the glue in her family, keeping everyone together and she loved spending time with them all. For many years she and her husband were foster parents for many children.
In addition to her husband John, she leaves her children John Zwicker, Jr. of Shirley, William Munsell of W. Wareham, Shawn Lewis and his wife Nicole of Brockton, Debbie Belcher and her husband James of Brockton, Mary King and her husband Mike of Weymouth, Cheryl Rocha and her husband Nelson of Rockland and Joyce Jaecques of FL; her grandchildren Crystal, James, Kassandra, Mathew, Jeffrey, Donovan, Kayla, Melissa, Bryanna, Michael, Matthew, Donald Jr. and John Henry and several great grandchildren; two sisters Jennie and Eva Munsell and a brother William Munsell, Sr. She was the mother of the late Donald Zwicker, Sr.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Thursday 4-7 pm. There will be no service.
