Golan “Chippie” Edmondson, 46, of Ty Ty died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at his residence of a heart attack. Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Rev. John O’Connor will officiate with burial to follow. Friends and family may bring food to Ty Ty United Methodist Church between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 and from 9:00 a.m. until after the service on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Family and friends will have food and fellowship at Ty Ty United Methodist Church immediately following the service.
Mr. Edmondson was born on August 17, 1966 in Carroll County, Maryland and was the son of Louis Carroll Edmondson and Sharron Laura Mitchell Powell, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Howard Edmondson.
Mr. Edmondson is survived by his father, Edward “Pop” Powell of Sumner; one son, Cruise Edmondson of Nashville; eight brothers and four sisters-in-law, Romulus Edmondson of Ty Ty, Doug Edmondson of Lewisburg, North Carolina, Rusty Edmondson of Ty Ty, Herbert and Linda Edmondson of Ty Ty, Eddie and Dana Edmondson of Tifton, Alvin Powell of Ty Ty, Eddie and Kathy Powell of Westminster, Maryland and Joey and Cindy Powell of Glen Burnie, Maryland; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Cathy Tripp and Mike Hall of Tifton, Diane and William Singletary of Poulan and Christine and Terry Kelly of Waynesville, North Carolina; two aunts, Elsie Gray of Cockeysville, Maryland and Kay Blueford of Randallstown, Maryland; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family requests that no flowers be sent, but that memorial donations be made to any food bank.
