Lucy A. Rago (Bucchino) of Everett and a former resident of Boston’s North End died peacefully at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere. She was 96.
The daughter of the late Cosmo and Maria (DelVecchio) Bucchino, Lucy was born and raised in Boston’s North End. She was a devoted wife and mother who was happy caring for her family and who had a special love for her grandchildren. An Everett resident for many years she will be missed by all who knew her.
The beloved wife of the late Nicholas Rago, she leaves her devoted children: Alphonse Rago and his wife Gail of Brockton, Lucille Iovanni and her husband Michael of Peabody as well as her loving grandchildren Nicole and Michael. She was a dear sister to the late Angelo Bucchino, Alphonse Bucchino, Rose Moretti and Helen Giacchino. She also leaves many dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Tuesday March 19 from 4 thru 8 PM and again on Wednesday morning at 10 followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Leonard Church, Hanover St., Boston’s North End at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
