Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Yvonne C. (Talbot) Peery, 83, a former longtime resident of the Forest Park section of Springfield was Called Safely Home on Saturday, March 16, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at the Suffield House in Suffield, Connecticut surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Ludlow on April 23, 1929, a beloved daughter of the late Lathus and Irene (Fontaine) Talbot. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School and lived in the city for many years before moving to Belchertown in 2001. She was employed for over 20 years at the former Springfield Wire Company. Yvonne traveled for over 18 years to many cities with her late husband, Donald who owned a tractor trailer while working for United Van Lines Moving Company. Donald would often at times let Yvonne get behind the wheel of his rig and drive for several miles while on a straight road. Yvonne was a loving woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her former first husband, Thomas J. Byrnes who was Called Home on July 23, 2002; and her loving husband, Donald W. Peery who was Called Home on July 27, 2008. She leaves her loving children, David J. Byrnes and his wife, Elizabeth, of East Sandwich, MA, Suzanne J. Sailer and her husband, Fred, of Stratford, CT, Thomas J. Byrnes, Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Big Pine Key, FL, Shawn J. Byrnes and his wife, Martha, Daniel J. Byrnes and his wife, Marybeth, and Kellyann J. Cardinale and her husband, Steve, all of Enfield, CT; her 14 cherished grandchildren; her five cherished great-grandchildren; her seven dear step-children and their families of the Peery family; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Besides her parents and husbands, she was also predeceased by her dear brothers and sisters, Roger "Mike" Talbot George Talbot, Alice Fenn, Jeanne Lamoureux and Juliette Rheaume. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. On Friday afternoon, March 22, 2013, her family and friends will meet for a Committal Service at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
