Hope E. Rawlings, 74

Dateline: Narragansett, Rhode Island.

Hope E. Rawlings, age 74, of Narragansett passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Village at Willow Crossing in Mansfield, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter W. Rawlings.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on October 10, 1938 she was a loving daughter of the late Adolph and Constance (Schofield) Thorell.
She grew up in Cranston and was a graduate of Cranston East High School. She furthered her education, receiving her teaching degree from the University of Rhode Island.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Rawlings had taught third grade for over 30 years at the Narragansett Elementary School.
A member of the Peace Dale Congregational Church in the Peace Dale section of South Kingston, she was also a member of the Sweet Adelines Chorus.
Hope was very devoted to her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons. Her other interest included spending time at the beach, reading, and in later years traveling.
She is survived by her devoted son Bryan P. Rawlings and his wife Lisa of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of the late Carolyn Keiser and is also survived by her cherished grandsons, Jake Rawlings and Evan Rawlings.
Her memorial service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, March 21st at 11:00 A.M. in the Peace Dale Congregational Church, 261 Columbia Avenue, in Peace Dale. Burial will be private.
Visitation has been omitted and those wishing may remember Hope with a donation in her memory made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
