Obituary

David A. “Dave” Vanderhoof, 57, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at his residence.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Vanderhoof was born May 28, 1955 in Titusville, Pennsylvania to the late Jack Frederick and Ardell Mae Daugherty Vanderhoof. He was a United States Army veteran having served in Germany. He was a former maintenance supervisor for Howard Johnson hotels. Mr. Vanderhoof had lived in the community for the past eight years coming from St. Cloud, Florida. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his two dogs: Bear and Red.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Vanderhoof of Fitzgerald; two step-daughters: Marie (Matthew) Voyles of St. George, Utah and Charisse Anthony of Orlando, Florida; three step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Karen (Rick) Carter of Ohio, Darlia Gardner of Fitzgerald, Rose (Don) Gehr of Saegertown, Pennsylvania, Jack Vanderhoof, Jr. of Pennsboro, West Virginia, Richard (Anita) Vanderhoof of Meadville, Pennsylvania, Carol Ann (George) Bell of Centerville, Pennsylvania, Debbie Bergholtz of Fitzgerald, Elaine Vanderhoof of Saegertown, Pennsylvania and Bill Vanderhoof of Davenport, Florida. Several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Herman “Rusty” Vanderhoof.
