Obituary

Roger R. Farland, 87, of Manchester, died March 16, 2013 at Ridgewood Center in Bedford after a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester on July 8, 1925 to Theodore and Virginie (Vanasse) Ferland. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard.
Mr. Farland worked as a carpenter for Davison Construction Company for 34 years and was a member of Carpenters Union, Local 625 in Manchester.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 79 and the Mt. Royal Club. He enjoyed bowling and eating at the Puritan Backroom Restaurant in Manchester.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Dorothy V. Farland in 2002.
The family includes his wife of 68 years, Ruth A. (Capen) Farland of Manchester; a son, Real “Ray” Farland and his wife, Lise, of Manchester; a granddaughter, Lori Barnwell and her husband, Scott; two great grandchildren, Douglas and Owen Barnwell; a sister, Lucienne Perry of Manchester; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
