MILLBURY: Richard A. Thomas, 85, died Thursday evening, March 14, 2013 at Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough, after a long illness. His wife of 58 years, Doris M. (Trzcinski) Thomas, died October 17, 2008.
He leaves two sons, Neal R. Thomas and his wife Susan of Millbury, Robert F. Thomas and his wife Donna of Sharpsburg, GA; two daughters, Marcia M. Landingham and her husband Kip of Grafton, Victoria A. Howard of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Marc and Katie Thomas, Elizabeth and Christopher Howard, Maria and Rachel Landingham; a niece and a nephew. His first daughter, Linda M. Thomas and two brothers, Eugene Thomas and Laurence Wolcott, all predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Bert Thomas and Angelina (Picard) Thomas Wolcott. He served in the Army National Guard and was a resident of Millbury for more than 50 years.
Dick worked as a machinist at the Wyman-Gordon Company for many years. He also worked part-time in the circulation department at the Telegram & Gazette. He was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church having served as a Lector. He enjoyed his church, spending time with his family and attending the Millbury Senior Center.
CALLING HOURS are 3 to 6 p.m. SUNDAY, MARCH 17, at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., Worcester. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 11 a.m. MONDAY, MARCH 18, at OUR LADY OF LOURDES CHURCH, 1290 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
