Obituary

Mr. Hubert H. Perrault, of Raynham, died Thursday, March 24 in Morton Hospital following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Rachel (Sherman) Perrault. He was born 92 years ago in New London, Ct., the son of the late Francis and Bertha (Girard) Perrault. He was educated in Taunton, having graduated from the former St. Jacques Grammar School and Taunton High School, and had been an area resident for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed in inventory for Texas Instruments, Attleboro for 30 years. He was previously employed at the former General Electric in Taunton. Following his retirement, Hubert worked at the Taunton Daily Gazette and served as sexton at the Union Congregational Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served as a Firecontrolman aboard several destroyer escorts in the European and American Theatres. He was a member of the Raynham Lions Club, the Chester A. Bearse Post #405 American Legion in Raynham, the Raynham Council on Aging and the Commission for the Blind. He enjoyed model trains, playing golf, fishing and boating. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
He leaves: 1 sister: Gloria Sandberg of Ocala, Fla.; 1 son-in-law: Bob Walkden of E. Freetown; 1 granddaughter: Christine Walkden of E. Freetown; 2 great grandchildren: Jakob and Samantha Walkden and their mother, Nichole LaPerriere, all of E. Freetown; his loving companion: Doris Riendeau and her loving family of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews. Hubert was also the father of the late Lois Walkden, and the grandfather of the late Jeffrey Walkden.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, March 18 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, E. Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will precede the funeral, Monday, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M.
