
Anthony S.”Tony” Poloczanski, 83 of Somerville formerly of Chelsea died Sunday after a long illness.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Nyder) Poloczanski.
Anthony was a Electronic Technician employed by Draper Lab in Cambridge for 25 years and retired in 1985. Anthony was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II from March 1946 to November 1947. He served as a Radio Repairman while stationed in the Phillippine Islands. He served as a trouble shooter, traveling in a signal corps truck with his equipment and repairing and operating radio and radar equipment.
Beloved husband of Anna M. (Doolin) Poloczanski. Brother of Olga Taylor of North Billerica. Devoted uncle of Anthony J. Melius Sr. and his wife Patricia of Somerville, Joseph G. Melius and his wife Maureen of Newton, NH, Ann Marie Dodson and Gerald A. Melius both of PA. Loving Pop of Jason Melius and his wife Kim of Reading, Anthony J. Melius Jr. of Somerville, Elaine, Michele and Carol Ann Melius all of New Hampshire. Loving great Pop of Jacqueline and Julia Melius. Also survived by several other loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Tuesday 3 - 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
