Lois A. Anderson, 87

Lois A. (Hinton) Anderson, age 87, of Norton passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare in Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. Anderson who died on September 14, 1977.
Born in Taunton, MA on November 16, 1925, she was a loving daughter of the late Oval and Grace (Tetlow) Hinton. She grew up in Taunton and Indiana and was a graduate of Taunton High School.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Anderson had worked as a Nurses Aide at the Daggett-Crandall-Newcomb Home in Norton. She had formerly been employed for many years at Betty & Bill’s Toy Shoppe, a former landmark toy store in downtown Mansfield.
A resident of Norton for over 60 years, Lois was a longtime member and played many active roles at the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton. For many years she was an organizer for the annual Church Spring and Fall Fairs. She also enjoyed being a member of the church’s former What-So-Ever Club and the “lunch bunch”.
Since 1957, Lois was a worthy member of the Rose Croix Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in Taunton. Her interests included gardening and reading. She enjoyed the former winter months spent with her aunt and uncle in Leesburg, Florida, and treasured the wonderful years spent with her nieces, nephews and friends.
She was the dear sister of the late Robert A. Hinton and Opal Squadrilli. Mrs. Anderson is survived by 3 generations of devoted and loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday, March 18th at 11:00 A.M. in the Trinitarian Congregational Church, East Main and Pine Streets, Norton. Burial will follow in the Norton Common Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours have been omitted and in lieu of flowers, Lois’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Trinitarian Congregational Church Clock Fund, P.O. Box 2068, Norton, MA 02766.
