Pete Wendel, Oct 4, 1953 – Mar 11, 2013
Pete passed away at home following a battle with cancer. Pete grew up in Ventura and Ojai, raised as a true hunter and fisherman. His love for the mountains, ocean, desert, and bird dogs began with his father, Ted, and shared with his loving son and best friend Jason. Pete’s strong willed personality allowed him to look at life and experience life to its fullest. Pete will be missed and remembered as the great man he was, as well as a father figure to many and a brother to all.
Along with his son, Jason, Pete is survived by his mother Emma, brothers Bill, of Riverton, WY and Stephen, of Veneta, OR, nieces Tyshana, Farrah, Jessica, Nicole, and nephew Cody, former wife, best friend and mother of his son, Cherryl, and by his dogs Mike, Chip, and Dawg. Pete’s father, Ted, preceded him in death in 1987.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday April 6th and friends are invited to stop by and visit Pete's family anytime between 11AM and 2PM at 2477 Yuma Court Ventura 93001.
