Obituary

CHICOPEE – Charles C. “Buddy” Rae, III, 64, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday March 8, 2013. He Passed into Eternal Life at Elaine Center at Hadley surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family and his wonderful caregivers. He was born in Holyoke on October 15, 1948, the beloved son of Doris E. (Peterson) Rae of Aldenville and the late Charles C. Rae, Jr. who was Called Home on May 22, 2003. As a young child, he was raised in South Hadley and Holyoke before his parents moved to the Aldenville section of Chicopee. He graduated from Chicopee High School and later worked in the maintenance department at the former Uniroyal in Chicopee. For the past 16 years, he was the owner and operator of the Franco Club in Holyoke. Besides his mother, Buddy leaves his loving daughter, Tarah B. “Dada” Rae and her companion, Rey Nieves, of Holyoke; his cherished grandchildren, Alec Rae and Linah Rae; his beloved uncle, Douglas G. Rae of Hadley; his longtime companion, Karen Stockman of Holyoke; his many friends; and his former wife, Sarah J. (Benis) Rae. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his companion, Ada. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date by his family. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806) 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Because of Buddy’s love of animals, his family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in his memory to the Thomas J.
