John K. Fitzgerald, 40, of Worcester, passed away Wednesday, March 13th in UMass Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He leaves his wife of 10 years, Alyssa A. (Turcotte) Fitzgerald; two sons, Evan J. Fitzgerald and Gavin K. Fitzgerald, both of Worcester; a daughter, Karlie M. Fitzgerald of Worcester; his mother, Jean (Fields) Fitzgerald of Warwick, RI; a sister, Kelly M. Rodwill and her husband Joseph of Guyton, GA; a brother, David J. Fitzgerald, Jr. and his wife Jeannine of Worcester; and several nephews and nieces.
He was born in Worcester, the son of David J. Fitzgerald, Sr., who passed away in August. John owned and operated J. Fitzy’s Hardwood Floors for several years. He was a huge baseball fan and a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.
Calling hours for John will be Friday, March 15th from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. A service will follow at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Donations in Fitzy’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Road, Waltham, MA 02451.
