Jay M. Liarikos, 53, of Fairhaven died March 12, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was the fiancé and soul mate of Christina Bond of Fairhaven.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the son of the late John G. and Jeannine L. (Loranger) Liarikos, he lived in Fairhaven for the last 16 years.
He was formerly employed as a commercial fisherman on several vessels in the New Bedford/ Fairhaven fleet.
Jay enjoyed his MG sports cars, fishing, going to the casino and wearing bandanas.
Survivors include his fiancée; his son, Marcus Liarikos of Acushnet; a brother, John G. Liarikos, II and his wife Kim of Dartmouth; 3 sisters, Diana Mascarello and her husband John of East Taunton, Ann Marie Liarikos of Lakeville and Catherine Liarikos of Fairhaven; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Jeannine Devlin and Marc Liarikos.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 16th at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph - St. Therese Church, New Bedford. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army, 619 Purchase St. New Bedford, MA 02740.
