East Bridgewater – Dana L. Ruoff 80, formerly a longtime resident of Whitman, died Monday March 11 after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan (Pierce) Ruoff.
Born in Waltham and raised in Whitman he was the son of the late Vernet and Doris (Bishop) Ruoff and a graduate of Whitman High School, Class of 1950.
He was a proud veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War from 1952-1955.
He continued his education, graduating from Bentley College while working full-time as a bank teller at Whitman Savings Bank. Dana later held the positions of Treasurer and Vice-President at South Boston Savings bank before finishing his banking career as President of People’s Savings Bank of Brockton.
He is survived by his loving children Scott and Lynne Ruoff, Kyle Olsen and Heidi and Michael Adams all of Whitman and Kirby Ruoff of East Bridgewater. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Lindsey LaCara and Taylor Olsen, Zachary and Jake Ruoff and Airman Spencer and Callie Adams as well as three great grandchildren, Owen & Logan LaCara and Payton Ruoff. He was the brother of the late Vern Ruoff and Louise MacBeth.
