MURIEL D. (RICHARDS) FERRIS, of Hingham, passed away on Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born in Hingham and was a lifelong resident of the town. Muriel was a member of the Hingham Fire Wives Association, the Worlds End Association and was a former Girl Scout. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her flowers, knitting, needlepoint and crocheting. Muriel especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was the beloved wife for 65 years of Richard Ferris, Sr. and devoted mother of Richard Ferris, Jr. and his wife Sharon of East Bridgewater. Grandmother of Kerry and her husband Robert VanDuesen of East Bridgewater, David E. Ferris and his partner Natalie Palladino of Pembroke and Eric M. Ferris and his wife Jeanine of Kingston. Great Grandmother of Avery and Philip. Also survived by her niece Heather Dauphinee of Scituate and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services Wednesday, March 13th at 11 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham. Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Tuesday from 4:30 - 7:30 PM.
