Thomas J. Fay, age 70, of Woburn for more than twenty years formerly of Marblehead and Boston, passed away peacefully on March 8th at his home following a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Kelly A. (Doherty) Fay. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Mary Ruth (Hooper) Fay.
Tom was a graduate of Weymouth High School and most recently was employed by the WNA Corp. of Chelmsford where he worked for several years as an auditor. Tom enjoyed listening to music, reading and watching all types of movies. His greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, children, extended family and friends.
In addition to his late parents, Tom is predeceased by his brother, the late Michael Fay. He is survived by his beloved wife Kelly and their children, Erin Fay of Washington D.C. and Ryan Fay of Woburn. He was the cherished brother of Rita Pecce and her husband Al of Quincy, Steven Fay and his Ellen of North Carolina, Bob Fay and his wife Lei of East Hampton. He was the son-in-law of Bob and Rita Doherty of Woburn and is further survived by his brother and sister in-laws, Bob Doherty and his wife Teresa of Woburn, Cheryl Braulik and her husband Rob of California, Tracy Surette and her husband Marty of Woburn, David Doherty and his wife Krista of Maine, Jody Doherty and her companion Mike Schoener of Needham. Tom is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Wednesday, March 13th, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be will be held on Tuesday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Interment services will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Tom’s memory to the Woburn Public Library Building Fund, 45 Pleasant St., Woburn, MA 01801 or to VNA of Middlesex-East & Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave., Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
