Edward J. Leyland, Jr., 71, a resident of Derry, NH, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry.
Born in Lawrence, MA, Edward was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a 1959 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He had worked at Raytheon for some 40 years retiring as a Supervisor. Edward was a former member of the Methuen Knights of Columbus Council #4027. Edwards life revolved around his family and religion. He loved to travel and made many trips during his life with his family to places like Florida and the Caribbean Islands. Edward was an avid card player and was the "King of 45's".
The cherished son of the late Edward J. Sr., and Monica C. (Doyle) Leyland, members of Edward's family include:
his loving son: Edward J. Leyland, III and his wife Lisa M. of Derry, NH, his beloved granddaughter: Whitney Rose Leyland, also of Derry, NH, a loving sister: Mary M. (Leyland) Machado, the wife of Charles J. Machado of North Andover, MA, and his beloved former wife Janice (Broadhurst) Leyland of Haverhill, MA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as his dog and best friend "Crosby".
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 MERRIMACK ST., NORTH ANDOVER, MA.
