Ronald Dale Guy, 65, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M., Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in the Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. The Georgia Army National Guard will render full military honors. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Guy was born on January 13, 1948, in Clarke County, Alabama, to Melba Ruth Roberts and the late Alton Guy. Following his education, he served for 2 years in the United States Marine Corps. He worked with General Telephone for 5 years before enlisting with the Army where he retired after 20 years as Sergeant First Class. After retiring, he returned to Fitzgerald where he was owner of Gyco Tax Service for the past 15 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife: Kathryn Waddell Guy of Fitzgerald; daughters: Kerri Dale Guy and Cassie Leighann Burnette, both of Fitzgerald; 5 grandchildren: Michael, Taylor, Cameron, Madilyn, and Rylan; a great-grandchild: Madison Rayne; mother and step-father: Melba Ruth Roberts (Roger, Sr.) of Fitzgerald; brothers: Gary Guy of Fitzgerald, Jeff Guy of Midway, and Roger Roberts, Jr., of Fitzgerald; and sister: Tami Deen of Hazelhurst. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brother: Ralph Guy.
