Lawrence — Richard J.”Hawkeye” Jarvis 78 of Lawrence entered into eternal life on March 5th 2013 after a long illness. Richard was born in Chelsea Massachusetts to the late Richard Jarvis and Dorothy (Lyons) Jarvis on November 4th 1934. He served as a marine in the Korean war until he was honorably discharged in 1953. Richard was awarded numerous medals for his service to his country, including a purple heart.
Richard was a life resident of Lawrence and worked for the Lawrence Public Schools for over 20 years until his retirement. He was also a bartender at The Ward 6 club for many years where he was a member.He was also a member of the British Club, The Rocky Club and The Arlington Club . His greatest joy was spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his daughter Karen Griffiths and her husband Joe of Brighton Ma, his sons Richard Jarvis Jr of Pennsylvania and Michael Jarvis. His daughter-in-law Lori Jarvis of Fort Myers Florida and his grandchildren Kira and Kali Jarvis of Fort Myers Florida his great grandchildren Jazmyne, Ladaenian and Jeramiah and many nieces and nephews. Richard was pre-deceased by his brother George Jarvis and his loving wife of 41 years Mrs. Ethel B. Jarvis.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will take place Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 7:00 following the calling hours at the funeral home in Lawrence.
