Grovetown, GA – John Michael King, Sr. husband of Priscilla Mae King, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 7, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Journey Community Church with Pastor Bobby Smith and Rev. Joe Hester officiating. Burial will be private.
Mike was born on August 30, 1964, a mere four and a half pounds. He was born a fighter and fought hard until he went to be with the Lord. From a young age, Mike’s favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. As an adult he also enjoyed playing golf. He worked for many years in the car business and genuinely loved his job. Mike “retired” from the car business at Gordon Chevrolet in June 2011 after suffering a stroke. Mike’s smile, laugh, and sense of humor will be remembered by all that knew and loved him. Mike was an active partner at Journey Community Church and adored Pastor Bobby Smith and his church family. Mike loved the Lord and was an inspiration to many through that love. Mike’s greatest accomplishment in life was fully loving his wife and children and leaving them behind with that legacy of love.
Mike leaves behind his loving wife, Priscilla Mae King, four beautiful children, John Michael King, Jr., Allison Faith Sailas, Lauren Hope King, and Ashley Lynn King, his parents, Gerald C. King and Anne H. King, one sister, Shannon King Herron and husband Perry, nephew, Josh Herron, niece, Allison Herron, one aunt, Shirley Humphrey, and his best friends, Tom Amerson and Mike Cook, who he called his brothers.
Pallbearers will be Mike Cook, Tom Amerson, Jonathan Young, Chris Savage, Mike Huff, and Kurt Boyd.
The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the funeral home.
