Muriel A. (Nason) Ackley 74, of Douglas Pike died Thursday at home. She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late John and Florence (Bazinet) Nason Sr. She was an assembler for the AT Cross Company for many years. Muriel was a member of the North Smithfield Fly Fishing Club, and an avid pitch player. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her many acts of kindness. Throughout her long illness she always had a positive attitude and a joy for living.
Muriel is survived by a son Robert Ackley of Burrton, KS, two daughters Cheryl Salisbury of Woonsocket, and Jennifer Halliwell of Harrisville, two brothers John “Jack” Nason Jr. of Hubbardston, MA, and Donald Nason of Attleboro, MA, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Eleanor Nason.
Visiting hours will be held Monday from 5-7 PM at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket. Burial and committal prayers will be held Tuesday 10:00 AM at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St. Providence, RI 02904-9826 in her memory, would be appreciated.
