Born in Beverly on April 14, 1929, he was the son of the late Clarence and Ethel (Gray) Tinkham. Wayne was raised and educated in Danvers. He spent his childhood on the family farm with his eight brothers and sisters. He served our country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Wayne’s first occupation was as a machinist. The later years of his career were spent as a tractor trailer driver. He finished out his career driving for Donald Innis Inc. of Danvers.
Wayne liked being outdoors; camping at the beach, tending to his gardens or just bird watching. He was a man that enjoyed spending time with his family. Most of all Wayne adored his wife Eileen.
Wayne will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
Besides his wife Eileen, he is survived by his children, Wayne and Lisa Tinkham of Danvers, Brenda and Robert Mazzotti of Newburyport, James Tinkham of Danvers, David and Tammy Tinkham of Danvers, and Kathy and John McCully of Derry, NH, a brother Daniel and his wife Sally Tinkham of Danvers, eight grandchildren, Chris, Bobby, Alicia, Jessica, Jacob, Alexis, Kyle and Amanda, a great grandson Carson, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Clarence “Mike”, Gene, Mickey, Gerry and Gerald Tinkham and Phyllis Uccello and Jane Rioux.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11AM on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 6-8PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers of memorial donations may be made in Wayne’s name to Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
