Frances B. Roberson, 86, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at Heritage Health Care of Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M., Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Keith Goodlett and the Rev. B.J. Funk officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 Wednesday afternoon at the church.
Mrs. Roberson was born on October 11, 1926, to the late Frank Bascom and Verlyn Fitzgerald Batton. She graduated in 1944 from Fitzgerald High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Past Worthy Matron. She was a former member of St. Mary’s United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women. She was also a former Pink Lady at Gilman Hospital in St. Mary’s. She and her husband returned to Fitzgerald 8 years ago. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Charles Roberson of Fitzgerald; son, Charles E. “Ed” (Annette) Roberson, Jr., of Woodbine; daughter, Regina (Roger) Blauvelt of Brunswick; son, Steven Keith (Elizabeth) Roberson of Darien; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia (David) Walker of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Ann Roberson, and a brother, Curtis Batton.
