Obituary

Frank J. Krol, 88 of Detroit, MI passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 in Detroit. Frank was born July 26, 1924 in Mount Pleasant the son of the late Peter and Sophia Tokarczyk Krol. Frank was a member of the former Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, a WWII Army veteran, stationed in Texas and was employed as a security guard in the Detroit area. Surviving are his sisters, Helen Blackburn and Genevieve Banasik of Mt. Pleasant a brother Bill Krol in OH, a National Guard enlistee who was stationed in Germany and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph; Stanley, an Air Force veteran who was stationed in Italy; Walter, who passed while participating in the Civilian Conservation Corps; John, who was killed in action during WWII and Albert, who died from malaria contacted during WWII and a sister, Mary Grzywinski. The family is inviting friends from 9 to 10AM Saturday, March 9, 2013 to the Visitation Roman Catholic Church Mt. Pleasant where a funeral mass will be held at 10AM Saturday with Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 446 and VFW Post 3368, Mt. Pleasant will follow in the Transfiguration cemetery.
