Obituary

Dinah L. Watson, 48, of Fitzgerald, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Phoebe Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, March 2, 2013, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Kenny Croft officiating. Interment will follow in the Turner Church Cemetery, Tift County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Watson was born August 10, 1964 in Ben Hill County to Louise Oliver Spires Smith and the late Jackson Wayne Spires. A 1982 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, Mrs. Watson received her accounting degree from East Central Technical College. She was a former dispatcher for Baker Transport and former co-owner/operator of Daniel’s Transport and D & D Transport. She was a Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts and enjoyed riding motorcycles and working in her yard. She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two sons: T. J. Youngblood and Ryan Youngblood, both of Fitzgerald; her daughter: Karlee Youngblood of Fitzgerald; two granddaughters: Grayleigh Youngblood and Ellie Mae Youngblood; step-children: Carolyn Griffin, Craig Watson, Cheree Miller, all of Fitzgerald and Tesa Barnes of Enigma; step-grandchildren: Tyler Hogan, Chase Miller, Morgan Barnes, Destiny Watson, Coby Griffin and Katie Griffin; mother and step-father: Louise & Robert Smith of Fitzgerald; a brother: Larry Spires of Fitzgerald and a step-sister and her husband: Jennifer & Jimbo Ellis of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her father: Jackson Wayne Spires and her husband: Donald Watson.
