Obituary

Norma A. (Nute) Roy, 88, of Manchester, died February 27, 2013 at Elliot Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Milton on August 24, 1924 to Ray and Doria (Ferland) Nute. She lived in Manchester for most of her life.
During World War II she served in the U.S. Army. She later earned a degree in nursing from Elliot Hospital School of Nursing and earned additional college credits from Notre Dame College in Manchester.
Norma worked as a registered nurse at Elliot Hospital for 50 years.
She loved cats and was a member of the Cat Fanciers Association and the Seacoast Cat Association. She was also a member of the Elliot Hospital Nurses Alumni Association and was an avid Red Sox fan.
She was married to William W. Roy who died in 1975. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Kenneth Gosselin and a brother, Herbert Nute.
The family includes three children, Dennis P. Roy and his wife, Karen, of Pembroke, and Louise Gosselin and her husband, Roger, and Sharon A. Roy all of Manchester; two granddaughters, Lisa La Plante and Katie Roy and two great granddaughters, Lillian and Danielle La Plante; and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her niece, Terry Mackin and great niece, Laura Skeffington who were a great help and comfort to her during her illness.
The family also wishes to thank the medical staff at Elliot Hospital for the quality care they provided to Norma.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, March 4, 2013 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech Street, Manchester.
