Florida “Flo” “Mémère” M. (Dubois) Thibault, 92, of Methuen, died peacefully at home Thursday, February 28, 2013.
Florida, daughter of the late Oscar and Marie L. (Therrien) Dubois, was born in St. Apollinaire, Quebec, Canada and came to the United States when she was only two years old. She graduated from St. Ann’s High School in Lawrence and worked for the former AT&T of North Andover prior to her retirement.
Her life centered around her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing scrabble every chance she got. She also frequented the Rockingham Mall with her children on most weekdays. She loved spending time at the beach and looked forward to her yearly foliage trip to the mountains. She never said no to a good time.
Flo will be sadly missed by her children; Arthur Thibault of Methuen, Richard Thibault of California, Pauline Dubois and her husband Leo of Lawrence, Francoise Naffah and her husband Allen of North Andover, Theresa Witkum and her husband Dale of Methuen and Marie Stevens and her husband Marty Brandygynne of Londonderry, New Hampshire; one brother, Andrew Dubois of Florida; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her beloved husband, Arthur N. Thibault, died in 2004.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Florida’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the KENNETH H. POLLARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 1-5 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel/ St. Theresa’s Church, Methuen on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover.
