Obituary

HOLLYWOOD, FL: Joseph A. “Joe”, 93, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 21, 2013 at the Wayland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a period of declining health.
He was born in Boston on December 28, 1919. He was the son of the late Joseph Lucas and Paulina (Belavonis) Lucas.
Joe is survived by his devoted and loving children: Karen Lucas Reynolds and her husband Larry of Hampton, NH; Roy Lucas and his wife Catherine of Wayland; and Shelly Graham and her husband Alex of Sudbury. He is also survived by his six grandchildren (Melissa, Kerry, Joe, Mike, Brianna, and Kyle) and his 5 great-grandchildren (Sarah, Daniel, Claire, Lucas, and Liela). He was predeceased by his wife Muriel (White) and Evelyn (Allen). He was the brother of the late Helen Ivan.
Joe lived most of his life in Dorchester MA. He was the owner there of Joe’s Spa and White Realty. He later moved to Framingham and resided there until his retirement to Hollywood FL 26 years ago.
He served his country proudly during World War II in the United States Navy as a Gunners Mate Second Class.
Joe was a loving and cherished father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family. He was always available to talk, give advice, and listen. He valued life and had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Forsythe Chapel at Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave., Boston, MA 02130. Familyand friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow in the Lucas Family Lot at the cemetery.
