Obituary

Edgar H. “Lee” Johnson, 50 years of Braintree, formerly of Brockton, died unexpectedly Thursday at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was the husband of Mary M. (Merchant) Johnson. For the past three years he had been a resident of Braintree and previously lived in Brockton for many years. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, raised and educated in Worcester, son of the late Vioto and Ruth (Johnson) LaPlant. At the time of his death he worked at Barry Ward, Inc. of Weymouth and previously had worked at Adavtar in Canton and Middle Atlantic in Randolph. He enjoyed golf and fishing and was a member of Amvets in Randolph.

In addition to his wife Mary M. (Merchant) Johnson, he is survived by three children, Hillary, Edgar, Jr. and Clayton Johnson, one uncle Onnie Johnson of Worcester, a cousin Richard Callahan of Braintree and several other cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 10:30 am in the All Souls Universalist Unitarian Church, 196 Elm Street, Braintree. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
