KELLER, EVELYN ELIZABETH KIRCHNER, 89, of Louisville, KY, passed away on February 26 at her home. She was the loving wife for 51 years to Robert Michael Keller, Sr (deceased), and loving mother of 7 children, Evelyn (Michael Halbleib), Patricia (Daniel Holland), Diana, Robert (Catherine), Donald, Jacqueline McAtee, and Richard (Brenda). She was a grandmother of 18 (preceded in death by Todd Mann and Angel Keller) and a great-grandmother of 18. Survivors include her brother, Robert Kirchner. She was an active member of the community, supporting others through her charitable donations of time and money. She was recognized as Veteran's Hospital Volunteer of the Year. She held the keys to St. Helen's Church and opened its doors in the morning to prepare for the weekday celebration of Mass. She was actively involved in the charitable and the worship services of the church, including the daily Marian devotion to the Rosary, the First Friday/First Saturday services, choir groups, and innumerable other church activities. She was a member of several women's auxiliary veteran organizations, as well as serving as a past president of the Women's Auxiliary American Legion Association Dixie Post 220 and Past President of American Legion Auxiliary, Salon 585,8/40. She was a Volunteer at Georgetown and Rockford Lane Nursing Homes. And of course, she avidly participated in many bowling leagues around the area for her entire life, as a member and an instructor to new players. Visitation will be Thursday 1pm to 8pm p.m. at Owen Funeral Home on 5317 Dixie Hwy. Her funeral Mass will be Friday 10 a.m. at St Helen Catholic Church (Mary Queen of Peace), 4005 Dixie Highway. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum.
